Joey is One!
Joey is One! It was an absolute pleasure having this young man in front of my camera over this past year! In fact, I guess it is fair to say, it has been even longer than that if I count photographing him while he was still in his mother’s womb! He is a clever, loveable, little boy with a wonderful personality and a super smile! I was always amazed how much he grew within a few months from one session to the next. Here are a few of the images we captured in the studio as we celebrated him turning one! Cake Smash-Yeah!! Enjoy! 
Newborn Sydney
Big brother “D” welcomed his new sister into the world just before the Holiday season! (Above). It was so wonderful to meet this precious addition to their family. Congratulations go out to the parents!! I got to take a peek at her just a few weeks back and I can’t believe how much more she has grown!! Newborn Leah
The first Day of Spring has arrived ! I find myself so inspired and rejuvenated with the promise of a new season. The warm temps this past week spurred me into action -I found myself ordering some new backdrops and props! I hopped in the car for the 6 hour drive to pick them up this weekend and even the big snowflakes coming down during the drive could not curb my enthusiasm for the anticipated future sessions using the newly purchased goods.
I haven’t found the time to blog over the couple last months-I had the amazing opportunity to teach the Industry Studies Diploma class at the PrairieView School of Photography for 8 weeks, while also keeping up with client sessions, making for some busy months. Unfortunately I always find the blogging is the first thing that drops off of my to do list! So that being said, I have a lot of catching up to do! I’m starting with the flurry of activity before the Christmas season!
That “flurry” of activity had alot to do with some beautiful little ladies arriving in time for the holidays. Let’s meet the first! I photographed Jeff and Astrids Wedding just over a year ago now and was so excited to have heard they welcomed their new baby girl into the world. It was so special meeting her and having her in front of my lens!! Here are just a few images captured during our time together! Congratulations go out to the parents!!
Miss Amelia is 1!
Wow -I’m always amazed how fast a baby can grow within their first year!! Some motions and mannerisms are so precious and fleeting and are often only experienced a handful of times before they move on to another stage in their development. Documenting/photographing a child through these early growth stages can provide cherished memories for years to come. I was so fortunate to photograph Miss Amelia even before birth during her Mother’s maternity session and then at birth, 6 months, 9 months and now at a year. I so enjoyed each and every session-always amazed at the new things she could do! Here are just a few of the images captured of her celebrating her first year and a few more from each of her photo sessions- Enjoy!

Then came Christmas and she was eating Santa’s cookies and standing up on furniture!

Welcome Newborn J!
Congratulations go out to R & J !! On Feb 17th at 3:28 a.m. they were blessed to have this sweet bundle arrive! At just 8 days old it was a pleasure to meet and photograph their new baby boy, Mr. J! He’s the strong silent, serious type- and what a cutie in those great hand knitted caterpillar outfits he received as a gift! Here are just a few images for you to enjoy -captured during the afternoon at the studio.
Welcome Miss A!
Welcome Miss A! I was thrilled to meet this beautiful new baby girl at the beginning of February! It was a wonderful session that included capturing some special moments between her and her awesome big brother! At times she slept and at other times she was really alert checking me and my camera out with the cutest of expressions as if she was posing!! Congratulations K&D on the new addition to your family!

Trouble is due to arrive soon! Trouble was affectionally named a while back, shortly after R & J found out they were expecting! I had a great Maternity session with the couple at Aspire Studios in December. R & J brought with them tons of great ideas and wonderful props including articles of clothing from when they were Newborns -including both couple’s baby shoes!! One and a half hours flew by and we managed to get a number of great images. Here are just a few I’ve selected for the blog. K&D Maternity Session
I love the phone calls with great news! I photographed K&D’s wedding a couple of years back and when I heard K’s voice on the phone a few months back I knew this must be it! Yes-They were expecting! I loved spending time with them in the studio and celebrating the anticipation of a newborn. Here are just a few of the images captured during the session- Congrats K&D!! Smile Day
Some days at work I find myself smiling the whole day. I smiled all morning long at this baby photo session and then all afternoon as I edited the images. How could I not when all I saw was happiness. I didn’t even mind hearing the “Barney song” over and over again in the morning (and then having it replay in my brain all afternoon.) The song magically induced fits of laughter and smiles from this 4 month old during the session. Yep-some days I have the best job ever!
Thembi and Olivia
It’s a simple, beautiful story. Thembi and Olivia met only 4 weeks ago when the Newborn baby girl arrived at her home. Thembi, a Champion Rhodesian Ridgeback Grandma, fell in love and appointed herself Olivia’s “personal guardian.” That’s it -that’s all to the story. Beautiful, sweet, Olivia has loyal, loving, Thembi to look out for her. Glad I got to meet the two and capture that relationship.
(P.S.-It was great meeting Olivia and Thembi’s parents too-Congratulations on the birth of your new daughter!)
Newborn Brielle
In Dad’s Strong Hands
A couple of weeks back I had the pleasure of photographing Newborn Brielle. This precious baby girl, just home from the hospital, was a natural in front of the camera. I got to know the proud parents, Val and Jeff, last summer when I photographed their wedding. It was so special to share yet a second significant event in this wonderful couple’s life together! We spent a hour together at their home, photographing Brielle. I just find it easier for new parents, if I come to their home for the photo session in the first few weeks after the baby is born. I bring the props and they supply the beautiful subject to photograph! As long as there is a large window with some room for me to work in front of, we are “good to go” for capturing some natural light portraits! Please enjoy some of the images captured of this “Sweetheart!”. Congrats Val and Jeff -she is beautiful! Enjoy just a few of the many images we were able to capture.
