N&L Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, Manitoba Wedding
Absolutely breath-taking, are words to describe Nick and Lucette’s Wedding Day! This country wedding was situated in the beautiful rolling hills of the Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes area of Manitoba. I had photographed Nick’s sister’s wedding a couple of years earlier in that same area and was so taken by its beauty that I was thrilled when I was asked to do a second wedding there! The Wedding Day started out with rain but we worked around it by photographing in sheltered areas such as hay shelters and for the Bride’s side the beautiful Trappist Monastery in Holland, MB. . The sun peeked out a bit in the afternoon for the Ceremony in town and the outdoor formals at a deserted farmstead and an Uncle’s grain field. The clouds and rain returned just as we were finishing up to head back to the reception. I was actually super happy about that because the clouds really added to the dramatic effect of the last few images captured of the couple, over-looking the valley. Thanks go out to the wonderful families and the fun wedding party and last but not least- the amazingly organized, creative, delightful couple, Nick and Lucette! Thanks also go out to my photography Team for the Day- Colin Vandenberg -amazing job with the Grooms side and the rest of the day, Cullen Klassen for his assistance with the Bride’s side in the morning and the formals and of course, Hubby Henry, for is chauffeuring abilities on the country roads.
I started pulling files to post on the blog and found myself laughing out loud at the amount I had pulled. So I culled it back a bit (Okay a lot) and here are a few to give you an idea of what a BEAUTIFUL day it really was! Enjoy!
Loved seeing the use of the couple’s Engagement pictures on the wine bottles!

R&S Engagement
The spring season has to be my favourite season, it always holds the promise of future possibilities and new beginnings! I have to say, we had the most perfect Spring Day for this couple’s engagement session at BirdsHill Park! The sun was shinning, the sky was blue, and the grass just beginning to to show a hint of green. What a beautiful setting to showcase a perfect Spring Day and of course the love between this couple! Associate Paolo and I enjoyed our early evening time with R & S and their dog Kodi, photographing at various locations around the park and finishing up the day with a wonderful sunset offering up some beautiful colourful light. We loved the playful nature between these two and are looking forward to their early Sept. wedding in Gimli, MB. Please enjoy a few of the images captured that evening! Congratulations go out to R &S on their Engagement!
J & T Engagement
It’s blog 8 of 14 in a row! It’s been hard picking and choosing which sessions to blog but I felt I had to include this one as it has has a bit of a sentimental quality to me since it features a family member! Our niece Talia got engaged to a great guy, Jeremy, this past year and I was honoured to be asked to be the photographer for the Wedding next summer. I could hardly wait to get these two in front of my lens and we decided on a Fall engagement session in The Exchange District.
This past Fall was quite busy for the business and I was thankful for the assistance of talented photographer Colin Vandenberg with second shooting and editing help. Colin was able to join us for the session and I’ve featured a number of his images. Congratulations go out to Talia and Jeremy – wishing you happiness for the future! Happy Planning you two! 🙂

T & T Fall Wedding
Congratulations go out to T&T who were married at the beginning of October! The details of this wedding were amazing, including a beautiful classy colour selection of grey and deep red, oranges and yellows -a perfectly stunning combination for a Fall Wedding! David Lipnowski was my associate for this wedding and a former student of ours, Heather Stuart, joined up with us at the reception location later that Day to capture images of the Hall and the Ceremony.
The Couple met for a “first meet” at the Red River Campus Downtown and then we completed a few Formals there with the Wedding Party. It was a slightly chilly day, but the Wedding Party was awesome- posing for a few outdoor pictures at the Legislative Building as well as Family Formals on the grand staircase. Then it was off to the Ceremony at The Qualico Centre at Assiniboine Park. The ceremony was officiated by Marianne Propp (Marry Us Marianne) with the Reception following. The Reception featured a beautiful cake creation by Cake Studio. Dress it Up Events did a beautiful job on the Flowers and Andrea Baer with the ladies make-up! Enjoy just a few images captured from their Special Day!
M&W October Morden MB. Wedding
Day 2 of the 14 Day blog count down! Associate photographer Paolo Porquez and I enjoyed visiting scenic Morden MB for this wedding. Whitney and Mike’s Day was a full day of multiple laughs with an awesome Wedding Party and beautiful breathtaking locations including the scenic Minnewasta Golf Course! We started the Day with the Bride and her attendants at her Parents (and I might add-It was an really great start to the day as it included the Bride making us homemade waffles with white sauce.!!!Yummm)We then spent an intimate “First meet” with the couple followed by some time with the wedding party in Downtown Morden for a few Formals. The Ceremony was at the Golf Course followed by more Formals on the Golf Course, as well as some Family Formals and the Reception at the Club House. I must say it was really a difficult chore trying to pull just a few files to share! Congratulations go out to the couple!!
K&S Wedding
Congratulations go out to K&S on their Wedding in August! It was a very classy Wedding Day with the Ceremony and Reception at The Gates on Roblin. A fabulous job by Wedding planner, A Wedding by Maxine , (I especially loved the great activiites and games during the couples reception)! Early morning rain did not dampen spirits and the weather cleared up just in time for the Wedding Formals later that afternoon allowing us to take advantage of the gorgeous outdoor gardens and the river green space. Kristen Sawatzky and Colin Vandenberg were my second shooters for the Day and I must say did an amazing job! I’ve posted a few of my favorite images by them. Enjoy!
K&S Lake Engagement Session Sneak Peek
Who says rain isn’t romantic! 🙂 I had the opportunity to head out to K&S’s lake spot near the Whiteshell this past weekend with associate photographers Colin Vandenberg and Kristen Sawatzky. We had a fun afternoon photographing the couple, doing things they love at the lake-including canoeing, kayaking and quading! Just as we were winding up we had a great storm pass through-good thing we were able to dip into a bird sanctuary building for a bit of shelter -and another amazing photography location! I’m still working on their proofing link -playing with some editing presets..but here are a few images as a sneak peek! Enjoy!

W & M Engagement session
Associate Paolo and I had a wonderful time photographing this couple in Morden, MB.! I instantly fell in love with the town and it’s historic buildings and homes – and W & M were naturals in front of the camera! I have to say, after this visit to downtown Morden and seeing the reception venue- I’m really looking forward to going back to the town to photograph this couple’s wedding on October! Spring was the perfect time for this engagement session. We didn’t even mind the slight drizzle coming down most of the afternoon, we felt it really added a romantic feel in the images. The images further down on the stone bridge even reminded me a bit of images posted of Ireland! Please enjoy just a few of my favs from the afternoon’s session!

A& J Winter Wedding Sneak Peek
Congratulations go out to Astrid and Jeff ! They were married at the end of November and I’m just putting the final touches on their wedding images! I always photograph a couple’s Wedding Day with an Associate photographer to ensure all the events of the day are captured and to provide images with different perspectives. With regular wedding associate Paolo Porquez off to visit family in the Philippines and associate Matthew Sawatzky on assignment in Europe (Yep-I know one day soon I’ll lose him to National Geographic..:)), I was left to expand the associate group with someone new. I met photographer, David Lipnowski, this past year at a Prairie View School of Photography Staff Meeting and then again a month later in a parking lot at The Forks. He was in the middle of a portrait session for his 365 Day project. I had been introduced to this amazing 365 project he has been working on. (Just click on the name to check it out.) I knew A & J’s Wedding would be 95% indoor photography and experience with lighting and flash would be a must. I was really impressed with David’s project work and his ability to create and utilize light in so many different environments. So super happy he agreed to photograph this wedding with me and it was a pleasure working along side him during the Day! Here are just a few of the images we captured during the Day – stay tuned for an upcoming blog of the Wedding as well!
While I spent the morning with the Bride and her attendants getting ready, associate David was with the Groom and his Family. Below are some of the images he captured.
The couple’s first meet on the Day was at Red River Campus on Princess Ave. So thankful for great indoor locations like this with lots of window light and warmth-great considering the day turned out to be a typical “Winterpeg” November Day – snowy, chilly and windy!

I’ve been truly impressed with some of the beautiful Historic Churches I’ve been able to photograph in Winnipeg this past year. This Church featured beautiful stain glass windows and ceiling murals. We did a “studio” set-up” at the front of the Church to capture the Family Formals right after the ceremony.
While I was completing the Family Formals at the Church, David headed off to Club Regent to photograph the Reception Room. Here are some of my favourite Reception images captured by him below:

M & B Wedding
Congratulations go out to M&B who were married in September! Both are literature lovers and that really came across in the Wedding Day details. Hand written sayings, quotes etc. from favourite books showcased in frames, adorned tables and walls at the Ceremony and Reception. The Bride and Bridesmaid’s bouquets as well as the Groom’s boutonniere were hand crafted flowers fashioned from book pages. Guests were invited to write on Jenga blocks at the Reception and centerpieces were completed with books belonging to the couple. The Confetti thrown by the Flower girls were hearts cut from newspaper! Formals were completed Downtown after a first meet by the couple and Family Formals followed at Waterfront Dr. .The reception was at De Lucas. Here are just a few images captured during the Wedding Day by associate Paolo and I-Enjoy!

M&M Married!
Congratulations go out to M&M who were married at the beginning of September! Could not have asked for a nicer day weather wise! I spent the morning with M at her home with mom and flower girls while they got hair and make-up done and then we met up at a great Winnipeg Historic Church for the Ceremony. Associate Matt Sawatzky spent a bit of time at the church before the ceremony and got some great shots of the church and the pre-ceremony prep. We completed Family Formals at the Church after the Ceremony and then headed to The Hamilton Building and The Exchange District for the couple’s Formals. The Reception was held at the Norwood Community Centre with a social that followed dinner. Here is just a small collection of the images we captured during the day-Enjoy!
I had fun with their dog in the morning on this shot above-I can just see her thinking…”Is there is something special about today I should know about???”

Below: I had some time during the Reception and realized I had brought my chalk board along-I set up an impromptu photo booth . Thanks to the friends and family who participated by writing out messages to the couple that they would later view when they received their images!
A&D Married!
Finally catching up on some long over due blogging! I had an incredibly busy summer of weddings and I finally completed editing the last and can begin showing some of the highlights of the weddings I completed the latter part of this summer. Have to say I’ve been blessed with amazing couples over the last few years and this year was no exception! This couple was such a pleasure for associate Paolo Porquez and myself to spend the day with! It was a Super Day-Paolo spent the morning with the men getting hot shaves and a little golf time while I spent the morning with the ladies at the Salon. The ceremony, reception and family formals were held at Transcona Golf Club and formals were in the Downtown Exchange District. Congrats go out to the couple! Here are jut a few of the images captured during their day.

M & D’s Fishing Themed Wedding
Two Individuals, both with a love of the outdoors and fishing, makes for a great starting point for a wonderfully themed wedding! The Wedding planning was done by the couple along with Wedding planners “A Wedding by Maxine”. After a wonderful morning with the couple’s families in preparation, associate Paolo Porquez and I teamed up at Birds Hill Park for the first meet and Wedding Party Formals. Then it was off to Leo Mol Gardens for the ceremony in Assiniboine Park along with Family Formals and finally a short walk over to the Qualico Centre for the reception. We so enjoyed our time with the family and wedding party!! Congratulations M&D!!!
Want to see more of this wedding check out the sneak peek!

Family Formals were also at the Park and then it was off to the Qualico Centre for the Fishing themed Reception!
N&J Country Wedding!
I have to get out more- I mean really get out of Winnipeg and explore some more of the beautiful, locations of Rural Manitoba like picturesque Bruxelles. (Above image coming into the town). I was fortunate to be introduced to this wonderful portion of our province last month when I photographed N & J’s Wedding. It was a great Country Wedding day- A Farm, a ceremony in a historic church, Formals in fields surrounded by hay bales, weathered sheds and green rolling hills…( A photographer couldn’t ask for much more of a backdrop) and topped off with a huge reception and a Dance March that brought all the guests together for an awesome time of dancing and celebrating! Associate Paolo Porquez and I had an amazing time with the families and the fun Wedding Party! Congratulations go out to the couple! Here are just a few of the images captured during the day to give you an idea!
I had also posted a sneak peek and you’re welcome to view more images by clicking here.
Paolo spent the morning with the Groom and his family getting ready at a Bed and Breakfast just outside the Church. (Images above and below by Paolo).

A & K Married at The Gates.
Congratulations go out to A & K who were married in July at The Gates in Winnipeg. Associate Matthew Sawatzky and I enjoyed an afternoon Wedding with the couple. Always a joy to be in the company of these two individuals with their great sense of humour and bright spirits and smiles! Here are just some of the highlights of the time we shared with them. Beautiful location, an amazing popcorn bar, beautiful outdoor ceremony , a super fun Family…I could go on and on… but I’ll let the images give you more insight to the Afternoon!
FYI-I had posted a Sneak peek of their wedding view those images here!
Two of my favourite images from associate Matt above and below.
Awwwww family formals with the sisters…:)
Another great shot Matt! (Above image)
K&C Married
Congratulations go out to K & C who were married in July! Each wedding seems to present a special moment or memory for me and for this wedding it was the morning that I spent with the Bride and her Family at her parent’s home. I had the pleasure of providing photography services for the Bride’s Brother’s wedding a few years ago and so it was great to spend time with “Family” once again. 🙂 I just love the interaction of the family and Bride getting ready- the smiles, the looks, the love. The day turned out to be beautiful and Formals as well as the Grooms side were taken at a “park like” farmstead in Garson. Then it was off to the Legislative building to complete a few more Formals and the Bride’s Family Formals. The ceremony and reception were held at the Norwood Hotel.
Please enjoy- If you want to see more of K & C’s Wedding Day- I had posted an earlier sneak peek called Anticipation. (click on the word!)
As the Bride was preparing for the big day, her mother began showing me the dresses that the bride wore as a toddler. I took a quick shot of the dress on her mother’s highchair in the yard above and below, in contrast “the dress” her daughter wore on the Wedding Day!
Taking a quick morning nap . Special Day ahead!
Bride and sister get ready.

M&D’s Wedding Sneak Peek
It seems that all my wedding couples this year are making it really difficult to choose which images to show for a sneak Peek!!!! They have all put so much effort and beautiful details into their Special Days that it has become quite difficult to show a small sampling. M & D’s wedding this past weekend was no exception! The couple chose a beautiful Birds Hill location for their first meet and some Wedding Formals. Then it was off to the breathtaking Leo Mol Sculptural Garden for their Wedding Ceremony and finally over to the Qualico Family Centre for the “fishing” themed reception. I’ll definitely look forward to blogging more of their wedding in the near future including details on the florist, make-up artists, hair stylists and Wedding Planners. Stay tuned!!! Congrats go out to M&D-Paolo and I so enjoyed spending your Wedding Day with you!
N & J Country Wedding Sneak Peek
Love-That’s what it’s about. Love is what brought N &J together in a beautiful Wedding Celebration in Bruxelles, Manitoba this past weekend. A stunning Manitoba country location! It was a gorgeous, sunny yet not too hot, Manitoba day, and the day included scenic rolling hills, hay bales, pastures and rustic barns. The Ceremony was held in a historic Church and a horse drawn wagon collected the couple for a leisurely ride after the ceremony. These visual features combined with a wonderful Family and a fun Wedding Party, all contributed to create a perfect beautiful Wedding Day. Congratulations go out to N & J!! A Blog with more images will be up in a couple of weeks here is just a few highlights of their Day…
A & K Wedding Sneak Peek!
Congratulations go out to K & A who were married at The Gates on Friday Afternoon! Just a small sampling (Sneak Peek) of the beautiful afternoon!! Here are a few images that caught my attention in a first pass through all of the images. I can hardly wait to show more of the beautiful decor, popcorn bar, outdoor ceremony and the Family Formals (So enjoyed meeting the relatives!!) Stay tuned for more!
Anticipation-K&C Sneak Peek
Congratulations go out to K & C who were married this past Saturday! It’s always so hard for me to pick what part of the day to show as a sneak peek. This early morning, first glance meet, however, clearly stood out for me as a highlight for the Day-and that of which I just had to share. Just outside the gate of her Mom and Dad’s residence, leading to the front street, was the perfect location for the Groom to see his Bride for the first time on the Wedding Day-and not to mention a prime location for the family to watch “the moment” from the front window of the home!:)
C waited patiently on the front walk -Anticipating the moment he would get to turn around and see his Bride for the first time on their Wedding Day. Please enjoy just a couple of the images captured of those couple of minutes and of course, just a tease of one of their Formal images from a beautiful Farm location taken in the afternoon.
A&D Engagement Session
A&D’s wedding date is fast approaching! I have to say -we hit it off when we met for the first time -and I was thrilled when they chose to have me photograph their special day! A couple of weeks ago, we met at a park for a morning engagement session. Spring is such a beautiful promise of things to come -The leaves at the park where we photographed were just starting to bud, the grass was a bright carpet of green and the sky a gorgeous shade of blue. This couple’s love for each other just so evident in the way they laughed and smiled at each other-such a pleasure to capture that! I’m sooooo looking forward to spending the wedding day with them! Congrats D&A!!
K&A -The Exchange Engagement Session
About a month ago, associate Matthew Sawatzky and I met up with K&A in the Exchange District for their Engagement session. We had the best time and I think we laughed for the entire hour while photographing and then sat down at a local cafe to iron out the photography details of their summer wedding. I can most definitely say this couple has no trouble taking direction and if anything put a 150% into what I asked them to do. At one point we had a blast as I asked them to run into an empty street, strike a pose and then run back out repeatable times to see what they would do! LOL!!! I had to show you some of the results below- I think K most definitely got his work out that evening!! Please enjoy just a few of the images we were able to capture around Winnipeg’s downtown Exchange District that evening!
My fav. shot from Matthew in the image above! We are so looking forward to spending your wedding day with you A&K! Congrats!!!
Only in Canada-M & D ice fishing Engagement session.
I’m sure -only in Canada can we make ice fishing in early spring a romantic outing for an engagement session!! lol! I asked Mandy and Dustin what they did in their spare time and this was it – in the winter months! It seemed perfectly logical to make it part of their Engagement session! It does feel a bit odd to be editing these snowy images as the buds are finally forming on tree branches. We packed up the rods, dogs, blankets, lures, sled and warm drinks and headed out to create some romantic images. We had a great day for the session -only mildly chilly and very little wind. Paolo Porquez and I had a great time with the couple and their dogs! Their July wedding is coming up quickly! Please enjoy just a few of the images we were able to capture that day!
Great shot above by Paolo!
