Roaring 20’s Graduate Session
I’ve known Georgia for most of her life. This past week’s Graduation session with her was a bit emotional as it truly made me realize how fast children grow into adulthood. Before my lens was a confident beautiful lady! Not only have I know her a a friend of the family, I’ve also been a client of Georgia! Georgia is a super talented Crocheter- creating unique pieces and participating in avenues like the Central Canada Comic Con to showcase them. I was not surprised -considering she is such a creative genius-that her Graduation outfit would be uniquely stunning! I LOVED her choice of a 20’s themed outfit. The Hair by Dina at Hair Obsession and the details down to the nails and cap and pocket watch of her date, Gavin, were amazing! Of course we had to find a prime location for the Family/ Graduation session and our Manitoba Legislative building-with its tall pillars and green space, provided the perfect backdrop! Congratulations go out to Georgia on her Graduation-may your future be filled with wonderful opportunities. Continue to be you and continue to share your wonderful gifts and talents with the community! Women’s Headshots
Everyone deserves to have a great headshot/ portrait of themselves! If it’s time to update your current profile pic on a social media site or a business site, consider contacting me this coming year! One of the favourite parts of my job is capturing professional portraits. I’ve had the opportunity to meet and photograph numerous amazing women in many different professions over the past year. They were all looking for a professional portrait for various reasons. Jennifer (image above) recently took on a new opportunity working in the Winnipeg film industry. She needed a portrait for her Linked In profile and for other applications as well.
I met Andy Dunlop through a friend. She is a very talented/fun Epicure Consultant, her updated images look great on her Website-check it out by clicking here!
Below is Melinda Friesen, an author of a popular new book “Enslavement”. Check out her blog/site here. She required a portrait to go on the book’s jacket cover. She is currently working on more books and I’m looking forward to reading those!
My most recent session was with Winnipeg based scientist, Nancy, who got in touch with me through a referral from her husband, whose business portrait I also completed a while ago. She needed a portrait to be featured on the Quaker Oats Centre of Excellence portion of their Website.
Pictured below is Tara-Lee. Loved meeting and photographing this referral from friend Jenna. She had a wonderful bubbly personality which certainly is a feature in her business as an Education Manager of the TutorDoctor here in Winnipeg.

Laura Actor Headshot
It was an absolute pleasure having this young lady into the studio yesterday evening! I’ve been photographing Laura (Winnipeg Based Actor) over the last few years and I always enjoy her laugh, beautiful smile and fun personality. She never makes it easy for me to narrow down her proofing link-always leaving me with so many great images to choose from! Here are just a couple of the 100 images or so! I’m going to get back to work putting together the proofing link-I can’t wait and see what her and her Agent decide on!
Graduate Julie
Graduates-It is not too early to book for a portrait session! In the past few years, I’ve had graduates and their families book a photo session as early as April. Booking a portrait session ahead of the graduation date allows for a much more relaxed time in front of the camera… and as we know, most graduates have their dresses and suits chosen and delivered within that time frame. I love meeting new clients and photo sessions celebrating graduations is a real treat! Julie and her family invited me to capture this event for them last year. Her dress was amazing-Such a beautiful colour and the detail so intricate! We started with studio portraits with her and her family and then I spent some time photographing Julie in the studio and at the Legislative Building for some outdoor images as well. She had such a sparkling personality and was a delight to photograph! I also enjoy customizing the session to the graduate’s personality and/or interests! D&R Family Fall Session
Blog 14 of 14 in a row! Wow-So good to have a project completed! I have to say, it’s been a great review of the last part of the year for me, going back through the images. The blogging will continue into the New Year-I’m thinking now of doing a “Cradle roll” of all the Newborns I’ve had the opportunity to photograph in 2014. Stay tuned! 🙂
I had not seen D&R in a couple of years for a photo session – the last time we were together I was photographing them and their newly adopted son. So I was thrilled to hear from them again this year with the great news that they had adopted a second son and would like to do a photo session! 🙂 I just loved spending time with the Family at Kings Park- We had a lot of Fun playing in the leaves and enjoying the beautiful colours of the season! I could just sense and see the love among them and the images are evidence of that! Here are just a few of the images captured that day. Enjoy!
I love Christmas Cards!
I love when Christmas cards come in the mail! I love it even more when it features faces I recognize from images created at a photo session with clients! These cards end up on my photo board just above my computer desk where I can look at them every once in a while and be reminded of a great memory from the session. This led me to decide on this family for day 13 of 14 blogs in a row! I always enjoy time spent with this family, we had a fabulous session quite late in the year but we lucked out with fabulous weather and still some amazing colour on the trees! Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas Everyone!!! Hope today finds you enjoying some relaxing memorable times with loved ones! I just had to share this post today as it involves some images of the man in red! Okay-I guess there were two men in red for this one- LOL! I’ve really enjoyed my time with this family over the past year also capturing images of Joey in his first year! He “rocked” the session -just check out that gorgeous smile! I know his parents will be enjoying their first Christmas with him this morning!
Early Evening Family Session
Early evening, late afternoon, sunset -no matter what you call it, it’s a magical time to photograph! When I can, I always try to schedule families in the evening, just as the sun creeps behind the trees and horizon and sends its wonderful warm colours onto my clients and into the images. It’s a bit of a gamble- depends on the cloud coverage that day and timing of the sunset and of course the challenge of a lot more insects (Usually gigantic mosquitoes here in Winnipeg :-)) . Even images thrown into black and white work as the light catches on leaves and thistles and hair and makes the images seem to “twinkle”. So glad the “W” Family agreed to give it a go-I loved the way the images turned out with the colours and light! Here are just a few images we captured as the sun went down and light faded in the park! Thanks go out to the family for a fun session! Enjoy!
“Super” Family Fall Session!
It was so great to meet up with this family for a photo session again! They had moved away from Manitoba for a while and I was super happy to find they had returned to Winnipeg! They are all naturals in front of the camera and were eager to “ham it up” for some of the shots as you’ll see! 🙂 It turned out to be a good hour of laughs with them! The Fall colours were so beautiful, the weather amazing and I had a lot of fun with the Superman costume brought along for the youngest. We found a field at the park that was the perfect backdrop for the costume! (I love when clients come with cool props and ideas like this!) Enjoy!
Maternity and Newborn combo
Wow- this has been quite the Newborn year!! One of the pleasures of my job is to photograph glowing moms to be and then their Newborn babies. I started offering combination Specials for a Maternity and a Newborn session this past year. I love getting to see clients twice in a span of a couple of months and sharing in their anticipation as well as meeting the end result! 🙂 Gisele was one of those clients. I was introduced to her through my friend Kat who shares Gisele’s passion for dogs. I fell in love with her amazingly well trained dog “Shine” who I had the opportunity to dogsit for a bit. So of course we had to have a bit of fun with her Maternity session including her dogs as well as the Family! Here are just a few of the images we captured at the Maternity session at her home and a few from our session in the studio once her son was born. Congrats go out to her and her Family on the birth of their Son!

W & M Engagement session
Associate Paolo and I had a wonderful time photographing this couple in Morden, MB.! I instantly fell in love with the town and it’s historic buildings and homes – and W & M were naturals in front of the camera! I have to say, after this visit to downtown Morden and seeing the reception venue- I’m really looking forward to going back to the town to photograph this couple’s wedding on October! Spring was the perfect time for this engagement session. We didn’t even mind the slight drizzle coming down most of the afternoon, we felt it really added a romantic feel in the images. The images further down on the stone bridge even reminded me a bit of images posted of Ireland! Please enjoy just a few of my favs from the afternoon’s session!

KEEPhoto Spring Pet Portraits
Kat Dueck of “a Pawsitive Image” and I joined forces again (Under our KEEPhoto banner) to shoot Spring themed pet portraits at The Pawsh Dog Wellness Centre. We just completed these sessions – and had a fun weekend of meeting some amazing dogs and their owners.

Welcome Miss A!
Welcome Miss A! I was thrilled to meet this beautiful new baby girl at the beginning of February! It was a wonderful session that included capturing some special moments between her and her awesome big brother! At times she slept and at other times she was really alert checking me and my camera out with the cutest of expressions as if she was posing!! Congratulations K&D on the new addition to your family!

Trouble is due to arrive soon! Trouble was affectionally named a while back, shortly after R & J found out they were expecting! I had a great Maternity session with the couple at Aspire Studios in December. R & J brought with them tons of great ideas and wonderful props including articles of clothing from when they were Newborns -including both couple’s baby shoes!! One and a half hours flew by and we managed to get a number of great images. Here are just a few I’ve selected for the blog. Winnipeg is getting ready to host The Juno Awards in a couple of Months! What a super time for Winnipeg to showcase its superb musical talent!! Local bands are readying themselves for an opportunity to perform during this time. I had the awesome opportunity to photograph this group of seasoned, talented musicians in December in preparation for the upcoming event. Family and Holidays
Hope your Holidays have been a wonderful time of relaxing and spending time creating memories with family. I’ve had a wonderful time this past week catching up with friends and entertaining family. I’m shaking my head in amazement-this past season has just flown by!! It just seems like yesterday that we were spending time with family visiting from Alberta during Thanksgiving in October. I was thrilled to spend a morning with them at Birds Hill Park-I can’t believe how the kids have grown! It was a perfect day- not too cold considering the weather we can get in October! Here are just a few of my favourite memories captured during that morning in the park. Enjoy!
Cake Smash Time!
Happy First Birthday goes out to this little girl! It was a thrill to meet you! I had the honour of photographing her parents wedding last year and I was so happy when her mother called to see if I’d do a Birthday session with her. Such a friendly little girl with a twinkle in her eye! It was so much fun to capture some pictures of her and then complete the session with a fun cake smash! Here are just a few of the images from the session! 
My evening with a Ninja, Rapunzel and a Peacock
Last month I had the pleasure of photographing this family at Kings Park. They brought their Halloween costumes, so I had the bonus of photographing a Ninja, Rapunzel, and an adorable Peacock (She even had the feather motif on the stockings!!) The sunset created some gorgeous natural light as the sun’s rays filtered through the woods! Here are just a couple of my favs from the session. I suspect they are going to make a large haul this evening trick -or-treating!!
K&C Married
Congratulations go out to K & C who were married in July! Each wedding seems to present a special moment or memory for me and for this wedding it was the morning that I spent with the Bride and her Family at her parent’s home. I had the pleasure of providing photography services for the Bride’s Brother’s wedding a few years ago and so it was great to spend time with “Family” once again. 🙂 I just love the interaction of the family and Bride getting ready- the smiles, the looks, the love. The day turned out to be beautiful and Formals as well as the Grooms side were taken at a “park like” farmstead in Garson. Then it was off to the Legislative building to complete a few more Formals and the Bride’s Family Formals. The ceremony and reception were held at the Norwood Hotel.

As the Bride was preparing for the big day, her mother began showing me the dresses that the bride wore as a toddler. I took a quick shot of the dress on her mother’s highchair in the yard above and below, in contrast “the dress” her daughter wore on the Wedding Day!

Tianna’s 1!
I can’t believe it-It just seemed like yesterday I was photographing this beautiful new born baby girl and creating announcement cards. I’ve been so privileged to have photographed her over the year and capture some important stages in her first year. A sweet, beautiful gem. A little shy at first-hiding behind her blanket, teasing me and my camera with one gleaming eye-and then a few minutes later capturing my heart with her big brown eyes, waterfall pony-and her trademark side tongued smile 🙂
K&G Sneak Peek!
Congratulations go out to Garrett and Kerilyn!! The Wedding day flew by and was full of fun highlights including our time at Winnipeg’s new Rapid Transit Terminal! Even though it was a coolish day, the couple were great sports waiting for us to catch some images with a bus in the terminal- that is a bus in the terminal on a Sat. in Winnipeg…. (Translation- l-o-n-g wait). I guess I need to confess to the couple that we actually did get that image 2 min. into the terminal, the other 15 min. -well, who am I to interrupt a couple enjoying being in each other’s warm, quiet, long embrace in the whirl of a busy day..:)
