R&S Engagement

1916RSEngagement-2The spring season has to be my favourite season, it always holds the promise of future possibilities and new beginnings!  I have to say, we had the most perfect Spring Day for this couple’s engagement session at BirdsHill Park! The sun was shinning, the sky was blue, and the grass just beginning to to show a hint of green. What a beautiful setting to showcase a perfect Spring Day and of course the love between this couple! Associate Paolo and I enjoyed our early evening time with R & S and their dog Kodi, photographing at various locations around the park and finishing up the day with a wonderful sunset offering up some beautiful colourful light. We loved the playful nature between these two and are looking forward to their early Sept. wedding in Gimli, MB. Please enjoy a few of the images captured that evening! Congratulations go out to R &S on their Engagement!

M&W October Morden MB. Wedding

FB1768WMWedLadiesMorning-1Day 2 of the 14 Day blog count down! Associate photographer Paolo Porquez and I enjoyed visiting scenic Morden MB for this wedding. Whitney and Mike’s Day was a full day of multiple laughs with an awesome Wedding Party and beautiful breathtaking locations including the scenic Minnewasta Golf Course! We started the Day with the Bride and her attendants at  her Parents (and I might add-It was an really great start to the day as it included the Bride making us homemade waffles with white sauce.!!!Yummm)We then spent an intimate “First meet” with the couple followed by some time with the wedding party in Downtown Morden for a few Formals. The Ceremony was at the Golf Course followed by more Formals on the Golf Course, as well as some Family Formals and the Reception at the Club House.  I must say it was really a difficult chore trying to pull just a few files to share! Congratulations go out to the couple!!

N&J Country Wedding!

1676-13elkNJWedCeremonyelk0001

I have to get out more- I mean really get out of Winnipeg and explore  some more of the beautiful, locations of Rural Manitoba like picturesque Bruxelles. (Above image coming into the town). I was fortunate to be introduced to this wonderful portion of our province last month when I photographed N & J’s Wedding.  It was a great Country Wedding day- A  Farm, a ceremony in a historic church, Formals in fields surrounded by hay bales, weathered sheds and green rolling hills…( A photographer couldn’t ask for much more of a backdrop) and topped off with a huge reception and a Dance March that brought all the guests together for an awesome time of dancing and celebrating! Associate Paolo Porquez and I had an amazing time with the families and the  fun Wedding Party! Congratulations go out to the couple! Here are just a few of the images captured during the day to give you an idea!

I had also posted a sneak peek and you’re welcome to view more images by clicking here.

K & G Wedding

1623-12ekpLadiesgetready-17

I can sum up K & G’s Wedding Day in two words-Beautiful and so Heartfelt! Details of their wedding were so thought out and full of emotional connection. Everything from wearing her mom’s veil to the police pin she adorned her bouquet with in memory of her father.  It was a true pleasure for associate Paolo Porquez and me to spend the day photographing this couple, their family and wedding party! The day started with a trip to the hairdressers and then back to the bride’s mom’s house for the final touches before the outdoor wedding ceremony at a friend’s backyard in Tuxedo. Formals were taken at the Legislative Building and a few at the Transit building as well. (Make sure you check out their Sneak Peek  for more images from that location!) It was a handy last location as we only had to cross a parking lot to get to the reception venue! It’s always so hard to just pick out a few images to represent a full Wedding Day- but here are a few! Enjoy!

K&J Wedding

1616-12K&JFormals-98-2

It’s January and the cold winter winds and snow of Winnipeg has most of us huddled in the warmth of our homes. Some  photographers like myself are enjoying a little “down time” from the “craz” of the last half of the year and are taking advantage of the time editing wedding albums, completing blogs, doing Website work , and of course planning and marketing for the New Year. I unfortunately have yet to experience a warm destination wedding in January or February – and this week’s -30C conditions around me are adding insult to injury. Hence I can only think of one way to think  “warm thoughts”  and blog about this past summer wedding.. :).

Associate Paolo and I had a wonderful day photographing this couple on their  Special Day!  It was also one of those wedding families that you just want to be adopted by 🙂 So Warm and Welcoming and I might add hilarious-I laughed the whole way through photographing the reception speeches!

You may recall this couple’s  sneak peek. (Just click on the highlighted words to get there!) …but I felt like I just had to share a few more images of their Wedding day with you! Thanks Kaley and Joshua for having us be part of your Beautiful Wedding Day!!

R&J June Wedding

June 1st -Ronee and Jerry’s wedding day! I’m always amazed by how fast wedding days fly by especially when you’re with warm, inviting and fun wedding parties and families!! Paolo and I had a great time photographing this wedding couple. The day turned out to be perfect for outdoor wedding pictures! The previous days rains had made the grass so green, the cloud formations created interest in the blue skies and only near the end of the Formals did we hear the faint rumblings of thunder.

This couple had a later ceremony time on a Friday, which meant that the Formal photography was first. For me, as a photographer, I especially enjoy when a couple asks for a “first meet” by themselves at a designated location before the Formals. It’s so much fun, so intimate and romantic.  We did this at Birds Hill Park and about 15 min. later were joined by the rest of the wedding party and then the families for their formal session. Then is was off to the ceremony at N.K.M.B. church and over to Niverville Heritage Centre for the reception. Flowers were done by Tatiana Penner.(click on the name and check out the website!). Please enjoy just a few of the images captured by Paolo and myself that day!

R & J’s Vintage Wedding

May 19th was this couple’s wedding date. You may recall a sneak peek  a while ago. “Vintage” was the theme the bride Ruth gave me. Nothing like showing up the day of the wedding to see the bride getting ready and realize how many details she has put into the day to make that theme realized. I was so impressed with the hand sewn dress my cousin Carolyn made for her daughter, the fabric flower with veil head piece and men’s corsages that include buttons from her Grandma, the seed bead and button necklaces the bridesmaids wore, and the hand made doilies that graced the tables at the reception as well as the vintage broaches on the wedding cake (I should also mention Ruth made the wedding cakel!!). Even her make-up, done by Meig Burgess of Kiss&Makeup by MEIG, had a wonderful vintage feel to it!  The Formal locations were chosen carefully to create the days- gone- by and that even included Ruth bringing along some antique props like suitcases! The picture of the ring on the Bible was unique too as the Bible was Ruth’s great great Grandmother’s! The locations played a wonderful part in photographing to include plenty of grain and a couple of new vintage presets that worked to create some unique old style images. The evening ended up at Rembrandts in Lockport and the sun even came out so we could grab a couple of sunset pics. So much thought put into the details by the couple for their Special day!

Paolo Porquez was my second shooter on this wedding and please find below some of his images that really made my Fav. top 10! Please enjoy the slideshow of our combined images of the day below! Congrats go out to the couple!!!!

K&D Wedding

FINALLY!:) Unfortunately blogging has gone to the wayside in the last 6 weeks due to the photographing and editing schedule. July is here, and I find I have a bit of time to get caught up on sharing what I’ve been busy with! Some of you may recall K&D’s sneak peek from April (Just click on the name to go back and view). Well- time to share a few more images! Kirsten and Daniel’s wedding was a beautiful event-Paolo, (second photographer) and I enjoyed spending the day with this wonderful couple, their families, and their fun wedding party!

Highlights for me included the incredibly decorated reception room featuring a candy bar and the wedding Party formals at the downtown Library! A special moment that I enjoyed photographing during the day, were the last few moments of Kirsten getting ready with her parents at the hotel room before she headed off to the ceremony. I loved the black and white series of images captured in the natural light from the hotel room window, illuminating the special intimate moments between Kirsten and her parents. Congratulations go out to the couple!

Below-My top 2 images from Paolo- plus check out his shots of the reception room and the groom getting ready in the slideshow!

C & G Married!

You may recall from an earlier blog a sneak peek on the “unveiling” of this couple’s wedding day. It was a beautiful September day with balmy temps in the 30 C’s! Charles and “G”, Maria’s nick name, were such a wonderful couple to spend the day with. They have such a warm personality and are so fun loving! The day consisted of the girls getting ready at Sets and getting dressed at the Hotel Fort Garry.  The wedding was at a beautiful church in St. Boniface, with wedding formals at the Leg. and a reception at the Hotel Fort Garry. You could see their personalities in all the beautiful details of the day! Associate photographer, Paolo Porquez and I, had such a fun filled day photographing this couple’s Wedding Day! Congrats go out to the newly married couple! Enjoy just a few images captured through out the day!

Viveca and Steven’s Sneak Peek

Fall Leaves, blue sky, open fields, and a reception amid vintage airplanes-WOW what an amazing Fall wedding! Viveca and Steven said their “I do’s ” on October 1st and associate Paolo Porquez and I were there to capture their special moments. They had a very romantic first meeting with each other at Birds Hill Park and were later joined by the Wedding Party to complete the Wedding formals. It was then off to the Church and later the Aviation Museum for the reception. An incredible amount of unique photo opportunities through out the day! Here are just a couple of images-a lot more are still in the works for the blog at a later date!

Kelly and Eric Married!

A beautiful, warm, sunny, August day for a gorgeous outdoor riverside wedding at Glendale Golf Course! A romantic 3 string performance, to usher a beautiful Bride down the isle. Lush, bountiful planters full of bright coloured flowers,  and  a very heartfelt ceremony. So beautiful! Associate Paolo and I teamed up for this wedding and we so enjoyed completing the family formals under the trees on the last hole of the course and then traveling over to the Assiniboine Park for the wedding party  formals. Kelly’s favorite place was under the arbour of trees lining the roads on the east side of the park. An amazing location for the couple’s formals! Then we were back to Glendale for the reception where guests were ushered into very classy, decorated room complete with cute tuxedo and bridal gown cookie favors on the tables, as well as a towering cupcake display. Below are some of my favorite images captured by Paolo from the day. Enjoy a small slideshow of both of our images combined! Congrats go out to Kelly and Eric , we so enjoyed spending the day with you!

Charles and Maria Engagement

Some couples are just too much fun. Every time Paolo and I get together with this couple we can’t stop laughing together! Having spent a few hours together with them now, I can really tell they are the best of friends and have a fun loving relationship! Paolo and I are teaming up to photograph their Wedding in September. We find that it is a benefit to us as well as the engagement couple to spend an engagement session time together. We get to know a little bit about how the couple interacts with each other and they get to become familiar with our techniques as photographers, the gear, and most importantly  feel more comfortable in front of the camera lens by their Big Day!

The location is chosen by the couple and this couple decided on locations along the river downtown. We spent an hour and a bit having fun photographing them. I’m so looking forward to spending an entire day with them soon!  Congrats Charles and Maria!

A  great shot by Paolo Porquez above .

I had some fun with the couple on the path’s beside the river.

Amanda and Dave Married!

Congratulations to Amanda and Dave who were married on May 28th! Amid the weather/tornado watch that day, some how the day’s festivities and planned locations all worked out to perfection! This wedding was particularly close to my heart as Amanda was my flower girl at my wedding-Way back when!! Wow-She was the cutest flower girl back then and a gorgeous bride now! (Dave you were pretty handsome that day as well!) I was trying to go through the hundreds of files to pick out my favorites to share and found myself having to stop at over 30! Yikes! The wedding day started out with the girls getting ready and Paolo, my wedding photographer cohort, enjoyed some time with the guys in a super neat garage of amazing cars-(He also had a blast in the Warehouse District with the guys as seen in the slideshow!) Amanda and Dave shared a first meeting just before the family joined them for family formals. Then it was off to the Warehouse/Exchange District for Wedding Party Formals and then to the church for the ceremony with the reception to follow!  Special thanks to the wedding party and the couple who made the day so much fun! Paolo and I enjoyed sharing your special day with you and we wish you the best in your new life together!

I’m starting to realize it may be difficult and too long to show the rest of the images as individuals, so please enjoy a slideshow!

First Wedding of the Season! Focus on the Details

First Wedding of the season! Photographer Paolo Porquez and myself spent a couple of hours with the Wedding couple at Pine Ridge Hollow capturing the moments of the Ceremony and the Formals. It was interesting putting this blog together. See, I give my couples the options of being featured on the blog/Website and Facebook or not at all. I realize due to the nature of some individuals jobs etc. not everything is expectable on the web. This bride was okay being featured on the website but Facebook -not so much. So I got to thinking and went back through the days files. To my surprise I found so many details of the wedding day, minus the couple,  that I think they still show the beauty and personality of the wedding couples day!

I have to say I was so impressed by the Bride’s personality! It rained for the Ceremony and the Formals, and being an outdoor location, the option of not getting wet was pretty slim. She was a trooper! The rain did little to dampen this ladies spirit and her sparkling personality shone thru! And as her dress got heavier as it got wetter, and her feet a littler muckier, her smile shone brighter! A true beautiful bride inside and out! The Groom is one lucky man! Hopefully you can experience a little of the personality of the bride and groom and the beauty of the Special day captured in the images! Special Thanks to Pine Ridge Hollow and the Garden Center there for staying open later -allowing us to photograph on the porch and the greenhouse.
